Why are people here are so negitive towards disabled…..?
I grew up as an orphan and struggled to get through 14 years of school. Sometimes living in my car during the winter just to afford the community college in Vermont. I have had problems with stamina since i became sick with Encephalitis at age 5(possible west nile flu).
I am on second family after raising my ex’s 3 children. Who one has spina bifida and has to use tubes just to go pee. He is doing very well now he is grown up. I just spent the last 9 years working for him to help his home needs from cooking to cleaning. I did that after getting hit in the neck from Ice falling off a tractor trailer and not being able to work a normal job any more back in 1997.
Lost on Planet Earth – there are some people here who are negative toward people with disabilities, there are also some people here with disabilities who are negative toward people without disabilities.
Just as in any society, there are going to be people who just don’t see eye to eye with each other and will disagree on nearly everything. An internet society is no different.
I have nothing against people with disabilities.. my partner of 7 1/2 years is confined to a wheelchair, and I also work as a personal care attendant to people with disabilities. Hence, a large proportion of my life is spent looking after people with varying disabilities, mental and physical.
There are people here who genuinely have questions to ask, people who genuinely have problems they need to share, and there are people who are not at all genuine and get treated as such.
Sorry that you are so disillusioned, but take heart that not everyone is as you desccribe
